Reporting to the Application Support management team, the focus of this role will be to lead the Application Support teams. This position involves both people leadership and strong technical skills. This role will suit an experienced IT Specialist who has an understanding of support principles and the ability to take on the Leadership component of the role.
Accountabilities:
- Analysis of trends in production incidents
- Identification and management of incidents and problems as defined under ITIL
- Overseeing the build of minor application enhancements and small projects
- Support coverage on a 24x7 rostered basis
- Involvement in disaster recovery planning and execution
- Elimination of operational activities in production support
- Appraisal of team members performance
- Coaching and mentoring of team members
- Reporting on major incidents and tracking root-cause analysis
- Relationship management with key stakeholders
- Day-to-day running of the team
Experience requirements:
- Five to Seven years relevant industry experience, including one to two years in a leadership position
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Production Support environment
- A tertiary degree in computer science or similar technology qualification
Technical competencies:
- VMS, COBOL, SQL Server, SPAN, DCL
- TRUST Application knowledge
- WIAS Application knowledge
- Wrap application knowledge
- Awareness of Superannuation, Investment Accounting or Retail Trust products
- SharePoint
- Project management
Coaching / mentoring skills:
- Familiarity with security and audit principles
- Knowledge of ITIL and / or COBIT principles
- High Impact Situation management
