Looking for an experienced Technical Specialist for a 6 month contract to work for a leading Telecommunications organisation!
Your role: "Must know mobile networks backwards"
This position is responsible for Design, Integration and Optimisation of GSM and WCDMA Mobile Access Networks in WA, including leading technical projects and the introduction of new features and technologies. The position is responsible for completing high level technical tasks and assisting other team members.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide input and be the WA Leadhouse into expert forum groups (Optimisation (HELIOS), Refarming and RF Design.
- Meet 3G network performance KPIs, particularly wireless broadband during a period of rapid growth in demand for 3G voice and data services
- Maximise the footprint of UMTS 900 (versus UMTS2100) involving refarming the GSM900 network (without degradation) and clearing the UMTS900 frequency band.
- Meet all accessibility (coverage), retainability and capacity performance KPIs for existing WA networks (385 GSM and 440 WCDMA base stations) with emphasis on HSPDA and wireless broadband.
- Conduct feature and parameter trials with input and assistance from RAE national
- Complete and assist team members to integrate all new sites within project timeframes including data fill, drive testing and fault resolution
- Complete designs within project timeframes and assist other team members on design and technical issues.
- Plan and manage special projects such as the introduction of new technologies and one-off projects such as GSM 900 frequency refarming and large/complex tunnel/in-building designs
To be successful for this role, you will have the following skills:
- Significant experience in mobile network infrastructure through working for a Mobile operator in the role of RF engineering.
- Excellent competencies in 2G and 3G network for RF design/build, dimensioning and optimisation.
- Excellent competencies in GSM/UMTS mobile testing equipment functionalities
- Very high level of expertise in 2G and 3G including Inter-working technology
- Excellent computing skills including programming/database development.
