You will be working with server protection products running in Windows and Unix environments, including Linux, AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX. Linux and Windows are the primary products. You will gain exposure to several Internet Security Systems (ISS) security technologies.
This role will execute the tasks required to fully test the product to ensure it functions according to specifications and customer requirements, and meets the business needs. Testing activities cover all aspects of the product/system including function/component, performance, system, regression, and service. The role requires familiarity with testing methodologies, tools and techniques. Software Testers may be required to set up test environments, design, plan, and track testing activity, develop test cases/scenarios/use cases, and/or execute required testing. In addition a sound knowledge of test automation is important.
You will be part of a software development team that uses Agile methodologies. Clear, effective communication with stakeholders in product development and product management teams is crucial.
There is some focus in this position on automated tool design/creation. This position requires experience in design, implementation, and maintenance of test frameworks, scripts etc.
You will also:
- Develop network and Linux tools to assist Development and Quality Assurance teams
- Discover defects through the creation of automated test cases
- Obtain detailed knowledge of the operation and design of Security network protection products
- Fully document tools that can be used by product development and QA team members.
Skills Required:
- Advanced Linux, Windows, Virtualization experience, Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
- Programming experience in at least one of the following programming or scripting languages (C, Perl, Python, Bash)
Preferred Skills:
- QA experience in finding, logging, and verifying defects
- Understanding of all various types of security events, (viruses, denial of service, SQL injection, buffer overflow, etc..)
