Permanent Opportunity for an experienced Applications Manager!!
Are you a Software Developer Team Leader looking to take the next step into management? Or are you an experienced Applications Manager with EXTENSIVE Software Development background?
Your role:
To specify, develop and maintain the software systems, and the staff and contractors associated with these systems for the organisation.
To provide the expertise and advice in regards to third party software solutions for the organization and to manage and maintain the information stored in the organisations databases, and to minimise the double handling of information by way of data consolidation and automated interfaces between disparate systems.
MUST have extensive Software Development and applications background.
Key Accountabilities:
- To provide technical guidance to both internal and contract software developers.
- To work with relevant department managers in the specification of and selection requirements for COTS (commercial off the shelf systems).
- To provide after hours support to the Operations Centre computer system and users on a rostered basis
- Ensure that system development and operations conform with industry standards in relation to security and quality
- Evaluate requests from departments for new or improved methods of information processing.
- Development and maintenance of a methodology and systems to be used in all of the organisation's software developments.
- To ensure that all application development work is carried out to a standard that minimises errors and reduces the ongoing maintenance of applications.
- To perform systems analysis and design associated with the development of new systems.
- To ensure that application development proceeds as per the I.T. project schedule and that appropriate resources are available to fulfill the development needs of the organisation as defined by the schedule.
