Are you looking for a role which has great potential for growth?  Reporting to the Manager, Educational Technologies, the role of Application Support Officer  - Learning Systems will see you provide a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of learning materials on the LMS (Learning Management System). This position involves working with a wide variety of clients & staff to ensure a high quality standard in education is maintained.  The role provides expert advice to academic staff on good practices as it relates to the delivery of online, face-to-face and blended learning subjects at tertiary levels. The position is responsible for creating online learning activities that are responsive to the needs of the learner.
 
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
 
  • Support for Online and On Campus Subjects delivered on the LMS.  This may involve making updates, fixes, and applying new materials and activities on the LMS.
  • Support for academics using the LMS.  This involves providing one-on-one or group training, and development of podcasts for training purposes.
  • Participate in and manage projects relating to the design and development of new online subject development.  
  • Design, develop and/or coordinate the development of resources to promote sound pedagogical use of learning technology.
  • Processing of video and audio screencasts for use on the LMS. Using software such as Camtasia and Quicktime, process videos and audio files.
  • Provide Helpdesk Level 2-3 support for the Educational Technologies team.  Respond to emails / phone / inperson enquiries  
  • Ensure highest quality standards are maintained and national consistency of materials produced is upheld.
  • Perform proofreading, document formatting and other tasks as assigned.
 
 
To be considered for this role you will possess best fit from the following :
 
  • Bachelor or post-graduate degree in a related field - Information Technology or Education preferred
  • Appropriate VET qualification in Teaching and Assessment.
  • Experience with a learning/content management system, such as Moodle to set and modify course environment settings to match institutional policies.  
  • Knowledge in instructional design and instructional product development, particularly as they relate to the online environment.  
  • Proven knowledge of, and the ability to develop materials in online course development software, most notably in the Moodle open source learning management system, or similar virtual learning environment.
  • Working knowledge of project management and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to customer service and team-oriented management.
