A large financial institution currently has a position available in their team for a senior database administrator to support the delivery of reliable, recoverable, high performance database management systems for the company's group business applications and provide technical and analytical support on a 24 x 7 basis.
Key accountabilities;
- Provide analysis and feedback on Project related requirements
- Successfully drive completion of projects on time and on budget
- Support all major implementations throughout the year within the timeframes set by each specific implementation
- Install and configure Databases systems, patches and upgrades.
- Maintain database system software at current or no greater than -2 levels.
Experience required;
- Essential to have minimum 5+ years experience in Enterprise Database Administration
- Strong Communication Skills, both written and verbal.
- Advantage to have Financial Institutions Applications, Architecture and Interfaces experience
- Extensive experience with SQL Server, MS-SQL
- Experience within banking highly regarded
- Experience with Clustering (VERITAS) highly regarded
