Our client is currently seeking a Cisco Security Specialist Engineer for a permanent position. Based in corporate offices within the heart of West Perth, this IT services company boasts a solid local and national market presence and reputation, where staff satisfaction, work flexibility and fairness are core values to their ongoing performance and business.
You will work within a team of IT professionals and more specifically form part of the technical solutions practice in WA. Ideally you will be hands-on technical with solid Security skill sets - CISCO PIX / ASA & Checkpoint Systems. The role involves extensive visits to client and prospective client sites, with most located within the local CBD.
Responsibilities of the role include:

• Undertaking system analysis, technical design, implementation and maintenance of solutions applied to customer infrastructure incorporating technologies such as network, IP Telephony, security, systems, storage and wireless solutions as applicable to the role;
• Provide technical leadership in the design and execution of projects as well as perform complex trouble-shooting for customers;
• Deliver paid customer engagements on architectural design, consulting/auditing and provide advice on policy components to customers;
• Work with implementation teams and the customer, providing systems/network design and implementation support to ensure smooth and effective migration to new technology/versions;
• Provide technical support to clients through dealing with complex service queries and problems with client's systems
• Assist with the review of the technical solutions and effort estimates needed for RFPs/Proposals

The successful applicant will need to present with the following:

• Extensive proven technical experience
• Relevant vendor certifications at a senior level (i.e.: CISSP, CCSP, CCIE, JNCIE).
• In depth understanding of CISCO PIX / ASA & Checkpoint Systems.
• Extensive technical experience in design, installation and support of medium and large networking and IP Telephony, systems, storage, wireless, security solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site for extended periods as part of or leading a team
• High level customer relationship building skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Current driver's license and own transportation

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Tertiary level qualification in Information Technology
• Experience in technical pre-sales
• Exposure to security and IP Telephony technologies
