The successful candidate will be required to provide a high level of technical advice and expertise to Sales Teams and assist Design and Planning (D&P) Sales Engagement to secure new business by designing the 'best value for money' solutions.
As the Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for developing detailed customer technical designs, Bill of materials, Client proposals to enable our client to respond to strategic and key customers. You will be responsible for developing innovative technical solutions to address customer business requirements, taking responsibility for coordinating all of the inputs to the design and supporting the design through its life cycle.
You will be accountable for focusing on Managed Solution technical designs, costing and risk assessment and will primarily work with Channel and Specialist BDM's in qualifying opportunities and developing technical and infrastructure designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Being highly proactive with sales engagement and designated customer accounts for the development of best value for money and best of breed solutions.
- Providing Technical and Infrastructure Design for Managed Services solutions including cost and risk assessment
- Responsibility for the design of complex business solutions that integrate all data, voice, video communications and systems components into an effective network.
- Being able to run managed hybrid and point solutions as lead architect, sometimes managing other technical leads in the delivery of an end to end solution.
Essential
- Experience in a Managed Solutions environment (including maintaining large corporate networks)
- Sound commercial knowledge of Design and pre sales in a Solutions Architect role
Detailed understanding of one or more of the following technology areas:
- Security (Cisco, Nortel, Checkpoint, F5)
- Wireless Networks (Cisco, Nortel, Aruba)
- Data Networks (Cisco, Juniper and Nortel, routing & switching)
- Video networks and digital media (Cisco, Tandberg, Polycom)
- Telephony: has some TDM knowledge but is strong in IP (Cisco, Nortel)
- Sound understanding systems and storage methodologies architecture:
- Microsoft and UNIX
- Server Networks
- Desktops
